Those that have the new style MES with the window.
How do you all like it. I'm an old schooler with no window
but really think the window would be cool. Let's get some
opinions & reviews going please.

Worthless feature IMO. It fogs up with smoke and you can't see through the window after a little smoking. Like it otherwise.

While I agree you do have to keep it clean. Not hard IMHO use some rubbing alcohol with a few drops of Dawn in a spray bottle and it will be clean. Oven cleaner works really well also.

It is nice to see how much smoke is actually there.

I like the window. Gives you a really good first hand look at how much smoke your producing. I could definitly live without it but I like it myself. I clean mine with alcohol after each use and it never cruds up enough on one smoke that I can't see in, and it does give you a sense of knowing what's goin on in there.

and this may casuse a problem with learning some thing new. You can see it so you don't need faith.I learned to grill and roast on an old school webber kettle and now thanks to some of you guys & gals i have an mes and also thanks to you helpfull people out there the only thing thst was a bust was jerky.my point is the window is nice but it can make a new smoker second guess themselves, just my thoughts.

My only though is,and I could be wrong is ,if I can see something cooking and it looks ready i might be tempted to react to what I see rather than what I've learned. Cooking to temp. and not time or the look of something. But after reading your last post and writing this I understand even with the window one can still use the same tools to test if it's done, sorry didn't think my first post through.

Yer killin me!!!!!!

I noticed ron upgraded based on his pics with his tile mod. Since he has had both models he would be the best judge.

However, I have to wonder, is the door glass just another future part that will break or come loose? I say this because the inside glass in my oven door came loose.

I don't know but there are 20 screws holding the window in place, so I am guessing it is removable..
