For Father's day this year I have been given the go ahead to build a new smoker (after getting a Silver Smoker for Father's day last year). My plan is to make the smoking chamber out of two 55 gal drums and use a shortened 55 gal drum for the fire box. This will be an off-set. I also plan on making it a reverse flow smoker. I have some questions for people that may have some experience doing this. Is this thing going to be too big for charcoal? Are there any special tricks to designing an effective reverse flow smoker? I want it bigger, because as I have become better at smoking, the demand for smoked meat has increased (family get togethers and such). I'm curious if this will need to burn wood or if the lump I've been using will do ok. Thanks a lot for all of your help.
