I am fairly new to this site and to participating in forums.

I have been having fun for the last few years smoking while camping at our seasonal lot in Mecosta. I am not a fancy pants yet, but have loads of fun and always cook way too much. We are starting to win friends and enfluence people..... I always have people stopping by and asking questions. In the past I always used a home made barrel smoker. This past winter a welding friend and I built my first reverse flow smoker out of a propane tank, I think it was a 125 pound tank. Small enough to take care of my family but big enough to do 8 briskets, if I wanted. Nearly all of my design ideas came from the kind folks from this site.

I am self employed married and with children, and grandchildren. My wife does all the cooking at home and I do most of the heavy lifting when we are camping. I enjoy the long slow smokes. It makes me sit still for long periods of time and I can get caught up on reading. I do a few unconventional things with my smoker do a quick smoke on burgers, salmon and brats. I have gotten to the point where if it is meat I want it smoked.

    Keep calm and smoke on
