    Welcome from Canada, stlbbq.

If I could make a couple of suggestions if you are starting off with a butt.

First, cook it the day before you are going to serve it. It is difficult to predict how long a butt will take and they reheat wonderfully. If you do it the day before and hit a long stall (a period where the internal temperature doesn't go up for an extended period) you will still have time to to take it to an internal temperature of 200-205 F to get a good pulled pork.

Second, post your smoke with pictures as you are doing it and you will get comments and advice real time.

I look forward to your posts.

  13. Thanks Disco, i will definitely do that. Timing is my chief concern, so I will take your advice and do it the day before. That way I can focus on the actual smoking. What is your recommendation for the best way to reheat the butt, the following day?

I put it in a pan, cover the pan with foil and put it into a 200 F oven until it is warm.

Here is a link to the most recent discussion on reheating pulled pork. If you type reheating pulled pork in the search bar, you will find other threads on the subject. As you can see there are a lot of methods for reheating.
