I found my new (to me) sausage stuffer on Craigslist for a mere $60.00. It's a Chop-Rite (formerly Enterprise) #35 8 qt. stuffer, in very good condition. No cracks or repairs needed, just a good refurb and seasoning.

I'll give it a cast iron electrolysis clean up, repaint the non-food surfaces (excluding gears, threads, etc) with high temp paint, and then oil it up and give it a good oven seasoning and it'll be ready to go.

A new 3/8" tapered, 7/16" straight, 1/2" tapered, and 3/4" tapered stuffing tubes are on the way, along with a new press gasket from eBay.

I should be able to fill it with about 15 lbs at a time, I think. On to the pictures!

AFTER PICS COMING SOON!

Probably about 50 lbs of Vension snack sticks in 19mm collagen casings. I need to get my smoker built first, though. I should be picking up a stainless commercial refrigerator later this week or early next week. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get that ready to go, I think.

I think so. Based on condition and the cleanup I mentioned, I would guess it's worth around $250-$300 on eBay. I see the new ones are in the $500 range. I happened to see the ad on CL about 15 minutes after he posted it and went and picked it up immediately. I'm pretty sure if I had even hesitated an hour or saw it later, I wouldn't have a new toy

Definatly a good deal and thats when they use to really make stuff to last too. great job and happy stuffing. I need one of those.

That's the stuffer I got last year....great tool...it will be better for ya if you can figure out a way to attach it to a table when in use. Also electrolysis will turn it silver...I am planning on getting a gear attachment for mine which makes it a lot easier to crank the handle around....good luck and post pics when your done with it

Very nice and a great buy congrats

Nice find! I never get the good stuff on our Craigslist. Towns around here are just too small.

If you want yur maney back on it just let me know..Will be glad to take it off yur hands...Awesome score in my book..I wouldnt put no paint on it..Season and clean her up and make some sausages

I have to find something to do until I can work on my smoker. I won't pickup the commercial stainless refrigerator I'm gutting until this weekend, and won't have the money and parts for a few weeks.
