CNS Casey here, and I am from Kansas.

Very new to this. So much so that I am still trying to decide which smoker to buy btwn the Char-Broil Longhorn offset and the Weber Smokey Mountain 22". Learning toward the WSM due to all the positive reviews re ease and quality of meat produced as well as the efficiency of fuel use.

I love good smoked meat and look forward to diving into this delish world head first.

Hello Casey and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  The trial and error method works well.  We will try to help you keep the errors to a minimum since we already made them for you.  We look forward to your contributions.  I have been smokin and grillin for a while and if I were to advise a complete new person I would recommend the WSM.  I have used the offsets for years and while I think they turn out GREAT product, they can be a pain unless you have some experience.  Just my opinion.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!
