Just wanted to say "hi" and let you know how much I've gotten from this site already. I'm hooked!

I've got a Weber kettle and a ECB that I've had for just about as long as I can remember (in fact, I have a load of dove on the smoker right now. I've always grilled them before so I'm curious how they'll come out. Anyone has any quick tips I'm all ears!). After hurricane Rita I got a Char-Broil Advantage series propane grill, and half my stovetop has been converted to an electric grill when you just HAVE to have something with lines on it even if it's horrible outside!

I'm going to add an electric smoker now for the ease of long smokes and the better temperature control. I've been looking at the MES (30" or 40"? I'm leaning to the 40; stainless or black - Stainless easier to clean and case stays cooler in the sun but worth $50 more?) but haven't made up my mind totally yet. Money is a factor, but quality and less hassle are bigger factors. Ideas and suggestions?

Anyway, hopefully I'll get to know some of you better over the next few months.

Welcome Smokeguy...don't know much about the MES as I use a offset smoker but lots of peeps on here have them and swear by them...someone will be along shortly to help you decide..

Welcome to the SMF! I have a Stainless Steel Gosm wide body and I love it. It has dual walls and is very efficient. Main point being that I love the SS. It is indeed easy to clean and really looks great. I's say that if you plan to keep the smoker for a while, go with the SS. IMHO it's worth the extra $50.

Welcome Smokeguy!
I like dove marinaded in chimichurri sauce and wrapped in bacon. Actually I like everything wrapped in bacon.
