new new guy needs help

    ok ive been watching this forum for quite some time now and i finally went and bought the el cheapo brinkman electric smoker. i like a challenge and well im cheap lol. put 2 fattys on it and i cant get the temp above 170. is there any way to go higher or am i just going to have to wait it out? thanks for the help. about 90 mins into it.

    First of all SdPj, Welcome to SMF! You need to go to Roll Call and properly intoduce yourself to the "kit & kaboodle" (everyone else). At SMF, dont be shy is number one. If you have a ?, ask away. You will get several answers.
    Great people here with tons of information, ideas, recipes, and helpful tips.

    Now for your question. Wish I could help, but I'm not familar with that smoker, meaning I have never used one or seen one in action. There are several modifications one can do to the ECB, but again, no expertise with an electric. Someone with the know how will be along shortly. But by all means, dont get discouraged! Will try to look something up for ya.

    SdPj, go to the forum "Electric Smokers". There is a "sticky". Read it. Hope this helps.

    kind of off topic crewdawg. but are u or were u a B-52 crew chief? the crewdawg kinda got me thinkin. ive been a crew chief for 9 yrs. 8 yrs on F-15 C, D and E models and now a F-22 crew chief for the past year.
