New MES 40 20070211 Owner Questions!

Just purchased the MES 40 at Sam's and was wondering about the retro tray mentioned on the forum for it.

Is this a model that it is available for? Model number is 20070211.

Have a 7.5# brisket marinating and a couple of yard birds seasoned, one with Walker's Wood Jerk Seasoning and another with rub.

Can't wait to get smoking tomorrow!

I think Todd meant call Masterbuilt customer service.

I think he will recommend the pellet smoker. It will use both pellets & dust.

Welcome to SMF! I have the same exact smoker (got mine about 2 weeks ago), and yes they do have a retrofit kit for that smoker. The only problem is it is on back order and will be in stock some time in October. They will put you on a waiting list and once it arrives they will send it out free of charge!

Pellet Burner if you plan on smoking above 180°

You can use sawdust or pellets

Todd, I already placed my order. Order number 2870. Not sure if there is anything you can do after the fact. Ordered the pellet burner and 4#s of pellets.

Thanks for the heads up! I tried to call them but they apparently are buried after the holiday so I sent an email with my model/serial numbers and asked for the retrofit tray. No reply yet but I assume I will hear from them when they have a chance to get caught up.
