Hello all and I hope you are all warm. I'm NOT!

I need some help on confirming that the MES 30" with window, stainless door only, meat probe, interior light, replaceable element (800watt) model # 20070110 is TRULY the latest incarnation of our beloved Masterbuilt units and NOT the older problematic units with electrical issues.

Bass Pro has this particular unit in stock and before I go down there to confirm...and yes....BUY my first smoker (I am quite excited!!!!), I wonder if anyone has purchased it or definitely KNOWS about the newest units. Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure that they have not made a 30" MES with window before now.
Pretty sure it is new.
Also, if you are sure they claim it has an 800W replaceable element, then it is new. Wish I had waited to get mine.

Saw that and was assuming that was the new one. Wonder why is does not mention the meat probe. They probably forgot to note that. Looks kinda nice...at least for a smoker. Like a DeLaurean?

I hear ya, Reeko. I'll let you know guys know what the dealio is. Nice to have replaceable elements but shame on them for some of the customer service issues after the fact. At least there are some gee-neeuses in here that perform miracle modifications that show the ingenuity of the good ole USA.

I got this model at Home Depot last week for $249.

Based on it having the panel on the back for element access and the new style wood adder we decided it's new in another thread.

How much is it at Bass Pro? There's a 40" at some Sams Club locations for $299.

That's a good deal. Spoke to local Home Depot as well as the Toll-free number and it sure sounded to me that they did not know what the hell I was talking about! I see you are in NC. Could you give me the phone number of that Home Depot. I would like to speak to the store manager, Thanks!

PS..... How do you like it so far and is there a meat probe in there?

Yeah, It's on MasterBuilt's website under retail promotions but it isn't on HD's website. I went to the store in Cornelius, NC (where they filmed the Joey Logano Home Depot commercial if you're a Nascar fan) and they had it. The # is 704-987-0490. I'd just go by your local store, wouldn't surprise me much if they had it. MasterBuilt might be able to tell you if it's regional or something too.

I heard 1 person that worked there say "I didn't know we had a smokehouse." as I was pushing it to the register so it's pretty new to them..

I did some baby backs last weekend and it worked great. The probe works as expected. It was probably 40s or 50s outside and it kept temp fine.

I'm still considering trying to sell it or give it to my dad or something if Sam's gets the 40". I had to get creative to get a full rack in it.

It sounds like you are set on the 30" MES latest model. While there are a lot of 30" MES owners at SMF there are more very happy 40" and several that after buying the 30" went ahead and got the 40". As a suggestion, check and see if you can swing a 40" you won't have any regrets, the extra room will allow you to do large cuts of meat and not have to chop em in half, there has been fewer issues with chips not smoking, etc.

Just a thought

Its nice to see that Masterbuilt is improving their product. Now that they are showing up there in the States that means We here in Canada can expect to see them show up here in about 5 years or so under a different brand name. Deep Sigh............
