As I say new here hope this helps me. Have had a chance to look thru things and you'll seem very nice. I bought a cheap ole Brinkmann to start with and things seem to be going ok so far. Liked the article bout the upgrades I just gotta get more holes in the fire pan I'd guess since I can't control the heat all that well---gets too hot at times--- but have been able to cook ok with it so far. I've been able to use some recipes for rubs and stuff so I hope I will be welcomed here as you all seem very nice. As I am so new to this side of smokin always did the basic bbq before but I enjoy the smoking and the flavor. Happy to be here hope ya'll be able to help if I got ??????????????'s.

I think of this place as a help desk and there's always a couple people on shift. I've posted questions mid smoke and someone always answered up. I also check a few times a day to see if there are any questions out there that I may have an answer to. This forum is teamwork at it's finest. The cool thing about having SMFers all over the world is no matter what time zone you're in there always seems to be somebody at the "help desk"
