NEW here from Nevada

First I must say this website is the worst/slowest I have ever encountered.  Says Not responding, my text wont even show sometimes and this is my third attempt to post.  I can barely type it is so bad. I about gave up with not being able to type more than 3 words without it freezing......(took 3 tries to type freezing).

OK, I'm new here from Las Vegas NV, been grilling for years but new to smoking.  Got a Longhorn smoker last year and I'm still struggling with temps a little.  Wanted to say hi and I look forward to learning and teaching.

Hope this works this time. Can't even type can't without  text stalling or seeing a buffering ring as a pointer.  NO BS it took 20 minutes to type this post.  Hope this is temporary but I doubt.. I want to but cannot use this site if it continues to laaaagg

Welcome to the SMF Family!!!

Regarding the sight...it's not the forum...it's either your browser or internet connection...been there, I know. If using wifi, disconnect/reconnect...oif that doesn't work, reset the modem. Then look at using a different browser (IE sux, BTW).

​Sorry but it this site.  I use windows 10 and edge browser.  I can't hardly type this reply. Just had refresh the page to type. I'm hitting keys like 3+ times.. 15 minutes and I got to this point in my post.  I just sent feedback to my browser about this site and mysteriously I can type a full sentence without interruption..... 

I would really like to use this site but it is acting weird.  I was also hearing some type of music or words from my speakers(Wife heard it also...!).  Now there is a red line under this exact sentence like every word is spelled wrong....  

I will post a screenshot if I can figure it out.  All other sites work fine and my internet speed and connection are great. Hope this gets fixed.  I love to grill and smoke as well as talk about it.

On Google Chrome now and the page is taking forever to load.  Chrome also warns me this site is not private and there is 19 cookies from this site and 311 from other sites........

Here is a screen shot from my edge browser.  

The typing on chrome is faster but still has some delay.  I just looked again and I now have 325 cookies from other sites..

After another freeze..Look at what it says about encryption.  My Norton antivirus is saying that a few adapters were installed.  WTH?

Is this a hacker site or something?  Problems with 2 browsers and stuff being installed automatically? I'm just trying to talk with some fellow smokers without a headache... and receiving spyware.

Update: I had to disable java script(whatever that is) and I can at least type now.

Sorry to hear the troubles you are having.

If your using a computer I would restart it

Don't know what else to say.

I'm using edge now, but don't have trouble with Chrome or IE either.

Hi everyone. I was using my PC, I stayed up late trying to sort it all out. Now I'm on my phone. Only thing I found is turning off java script and disabling 3rd party cookies helped(I think) with the slow typing. My Wife said "I don't know why you're still on there" it was so slow. Guess I love to smoke and bbq is my response. It does appear to work fine on my phone so I might need to stick with it. I have encountered a slow site before with Wal-Mart. Got warnings like "running long script." Not sure what it means but maybe there is a similar issue. There were 100's of cookies running from this site last night and the page said waiting for apps. One I noticed was some Ocean Society I think it said. My Norton toolbar was not even working right while on the site. It would disappear. Hope it gets fixed soon as I don't care to use my phone for forums.

Welcome to the forum.  Sorry about your website issues.  I use Chrome and Edge and have never experienced the problems that you're having.

Morning from Las Vegas. It's cloudy and cold here. 38° with 13mph winds and 33 gusts. I almost decided to smoke today but these winds have hassled me in the past. Take care
