Hi all, I'm new to Smoking Meat Forums - happy to be here and I hope to soak up some knowledge y'all are dropping on us. I live in Austin, TX - only a short 25 minute drive from the BBQ capital of the state, Lockhart, home to Kreuz Market, Smitty's, Black's and more. I've never owned a smoker, but have been grilling on charcoal my entire adult life - and use my grill to do modified smokes on various food items, I've even smoked a pork butt on it (and swore I'd never do that again because it was so labor intensive). I'm about to pony up for my first smoker this summer - very excited about that. I will look for your expert opinions about that when the time comes.
