Picked up a Chargriller Pro in early August after a trip to Chicago Speedway where my brother hauled his over from Fort Wayne. Made some awesome stuff at the races. Had to have my own. Found this forum about a month ago. Completed some mods, stack extension, charcoal basket, and thinking about doing some sealing of the lid, since I constantly fight low temps. Excellent stuff here, great ideas, recipes; everyone seems very helpful. Thanks.

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. Your right there is lots of great info here and some darn good recipes too. Have fun and happy smoking

Forgot that too. Have tried some Wicked Good lump, which made it better, but that lump was Wicked expensive. Been looking around at wally's, lowes, etc. for some other cheaper lump. Lowes has cowboy, but have read here not so good. Still looking around.

Welcome!
Turn your Brother on to this place.

Idaho, huh?

Have YOU SEEN what folks here do to potatoes?
They impale them with thermometers! LOL

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the SMF. Good to hear you got your mods done. Stick around, it only gets better.

Glad to have you. You are dead on right, as far as this being a great place to find info. if someone here doesn't have an answer for a question or problem, there likely isn't one. Welcome aboard.

Greetings itherrkr...
Another race/smoke buddy awesome1! post some q-vue, what's your next smoke gonna be?? I was amazed at the difference my charcoal basket made, but recently she has not been cooperating with temps...I think she is just a chick and tempremental. A good thing is to take notes like when trying a new lump for example...that helps a lot when you look back to review your smoke, then perhaps find things that you may have missed at some ungodly hour of the night.morning!
Happy smokes!

Welcome to SMF Glad you joined. Lots of folks myself included use Royal Oak lump. I get it at Wally Mart. Check the bag to be sure it is a product of USA or brazil, high heat low ash.

Next smoke probably not going to be for another week or so. Going camping this weekend. Last weekend was beer butt chicken weekend. They were excellent.

Welcome to the forum. Its a great place full of great people.
Let there be thin blue's for you.
