Greetings!

Jerry here. New to smoking last year.

I'm currently working on putting together a new Char Griller. I've researched the mods and am making them before using it the first time. I'm hoping to have it finished this weekend. I'm taking my time to get it right since there is still too much snow on the ground to set it up outside yet. This one is to let me start building recipes and technique. When I know what I want (like that could ever happen....) I plan to invest in my "ultimate trailer".

I also do a fair amount of campfire dutch oven cooking.

My ultimate goal for a setup is to rebuild my trailer with a smoker, separate grill, dutch oven tables and a two burner stove. A canopy overhead is on the wish list. Maybe next year...

Anyway, glad to be here. I've learned a lot here and hope to contribute as well.

Thanx!

Welcome aboard Jerry! I am a southern Minnesota boy too. New Ulm actually. Moved from there right out of high school. Don't even want to say how long ago that was. Migrated north and live near Duluth now.

You will find the answer to all your questions here. Lots of helpful knowledgeable folks around here. We are hoping to organize a Minnesota summer get together. Here is the link where you can learn more.

Hi Jerry,
Southern Minnesota here also, between Faribault and Mankato. I'm just listing a Char-Griller for sale. Check out the classifieds here to see what was modded on mine. Have a great time preparing awesome food.

Thanx everyone!

For the record, I updated my profile to show my location, Fairmont, MN.

jjwdiver - I'll be in your area fishing in a few weeks.

MossyMO - Yup, more than five lakes in MN. Our town has five inside the city limits.

erain - Straight south of ya on Hwy 15, just stop before ya hit Iowa.

3montes - Great idea for a get together. I'm hoping to make it up in your area for some fishing this summer. I'd love to make it work.

We can actually see some grass now. The snow is melting like crazy. Got some work done on the smoker. Most everything is ready.

Thanx again for all the kind words and support.

Jerry
