Need Quick Idea On Smoking Sausage

  1. Hi guys i need some quick pointers on smoking some basic store bought italian sausage. I am smoking some ribs tomorrow for moms day and was thinking of throwing in some sauages but I have never done it before. So if anyone has any experience about how long would they take? Do you put anything on them (rubs, sauce etc.)? And most importantly how do they come out? thanks inadvance.

    Personally if I'm smoking store bought sausage I smoke it at 200-225 until an internal temp of 155-160 if its beef or pork sausage. I don't apply any rub or spices as I want the sausage taste to come through with just the added smoke flavor. I think smoked sausage is very good. I would expect around 2 hours give or take depending on temps of the smoker and temp that you decide to smoke it to

    I cook/smoke our venison sausage all the time while I am smoking and need a snack in the afternoon. Just throw them on the smoke with your other meat and take them to 160 internal temp. They usually take around 45 minutes to an hour if you are smoking at 225-250. I never put anything on them.
