  1. My name is Wayne.  I am 59 (almost 60 arggggghh).  I used to BBQ a lot, but after my divorce 10 years ago I let it slip.  Trying to get back into Qing shape!  Currently I am looking into a set and forget smoker. I am leaning toward the MBS electric 30-inch model (without the window), a maverick thermometer system, and perhaps The Amazen smoker.  I just don't know what the cost of usage will be for the Amazen product because the pellets and dust seem expensive.

I plan on smoking brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken.  Thinking about smoking roasts and tri tip, also.

Looking forward to learning with you guys!!

  5. Thank you all so much!  What do you think of the MBS electric 30-inch model (without the window), a maverick thermometer system, and perhaps The Amazen smoker setup?  Any system better under $300?

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
