So I have had my MES 30 for about a month and a half.  The controller took a crap on it,  turning on and off real quick when I would hit any button.

So I contacted Masterbuilt and they had me cut the cord and remove the data plates on the back and said they would send me a new one.  So I did all that and sent the pictures and copy of the receipt and what not and still waiting for there response.

In the meantime I purchased a Rec Tec RT-300 but I'm thinking I can salvage the MES 30 too.

Would an Auber WS-1500EPM  work on the MES and be worth doing?

From reading I see that I can do a direct to element power cord and run it into the Auber but I still have some questions.

Can I use the internal temp probes or do I use the one that comes with Auber?

When looking at the pics on the Auber site,  the probe that comes with the Auber doesn't have anything protecting the wires coming from the temp probe.  Is there a better one to get?
