After seeing fpnmf's hot sauce and how easy that looked I figured I figured I would try some out for myself.

Went to the store around 7:30 and on my way out asked my roommate how how he wants it.  He said, "I want my piss to burn for a week."  Most people would take that as a joke, I took it as a challenge.

So I got some peppers, left to right: Jalapeno, Cherry, Serrano, Habanero.

Most of my hab's were green, is that bad?

Then did what fpnmf said... Salt, peppers, salt, peppers, etc...

And figured while I was at it to do some chicken on a cedar plank.

Was my first time using a plank and turned out much better than I thought it would.  I had cut them in half to check for doneness (couldn't find my therm) and they weren't, hence the color on the inside.  Used Chris Lilly's pork rub (what I had around) and cooked for around 1.5 hours and temps fluctuated.  Had it on the grill and my grill is broken so it runs really hot.  Most of the time it was around 350-400 though.

Checked the peppers today and they're fermenting nicely. Good amount of juices have come out already, really looking forward to trying it!

Very Cool!

What are all the cups for in the background?

Beer Pong?

Habaneros come in many colors. Good luck with the hot sauce

hahaha yea, pain will ensue I'm sure.

So, when it's all ready I'm thinking of getting some bell jars to store it and doing one where I only fill it maybe 1/4 up and put in some tomato sauce, onions, etc... to dumb it down a little.  Thoughts on that?

So I've pureed and strained the sauce and I'm 2 days into skimming vinegar.  Question for someone more knowledgeable than I, what should I do with the strained out peppers.  I have a small tupperware full of peppers.  I was planning on using it as a spread but, to be honest, it's too spicy.  Should I mix it into a sauce to make a spicy bbq sauce?  Any other ideas?  I don't want to just throw it out, it's full of flavor.

You frat rats  crack me upppppp....nothing funnier than a guy dancing around after a hot shot of pepper juice. LMAO at the burning piss comment. Hey, how about a Sunday Morning  Bloody Mary Party using some of that pepper slurry blended up in the tom juice?? Sounds like it should be just about right....some chips & salsa (add a shot in that as well) maybe some brots on the grill and you be set for football games and an afternoon of studying.

Studying?  Never heard of it...

But seriously, it's effin spicy.  I wanna use the peppers for something but I really just don't know what they could go in.

Dehydrate it, grind it and store for some BAM seasoning.

Add other spices such as salt, garlic, onion whatever you want your BAM spice to be.

I like that.  Gonna do that then.  I'm gonna make some spicy bbq sauce too, gonna throw some of the vinegar I pulled off the top into it and gonna throw some of the peppers in, see what happens.
