Folks could use a little help / advice and I already feel like a dufus.

I haven't used my smoker in a couple of months and opened it up to find a bunch of mold in it.

While I would bet my last nickel I cleaned it after last use, maybe I didn't.

This may be a noob question but how do I clean this thing.

Right now I am heating it up to full temp (275) and probably will let it set up a couple of hours with the hopes it will kill a bunch of this mold, then I will wash the trays in the dishwasher.

Is were something else I need to be doing? Should I spray it with something.

Please help.

Thanks

Vinegar undiluted, spray directly on the mold, let sit for a minimum of 1 hour and then clean with fresh water. Vinegar will kill about 85% of all mold types. Heat to max temp and let sit for 5-6 hours. Nuke from orbit just to be sure (j/k). Optionally use hydrogen peroxide, it kills everything and is non toxic and produces no toxic fumes. More expensive than vinegar. But not as expensive as a ER visit.
