We've found a bean recipe we love to smoke: http://www.bbqu.net/recipes/305_2.html  We like to smoke this for 2 hours, then finish in a 350 oven to reduce the liquid.

It completely fills a standard 9x13x2 cake pan. I started using an aluminum pan after the foil pan I was using collapsed and I spilled some of the beans. Not the foil pan's fault, but the rigid pan keeps that from happening.

We purchased a 14x10x4 lasagna pan. I'd have to beat the sides in a bit on the 14" axis to get the pan to fit. My other choice is to let Karol make lasagna. Which makes me wonder if anyone's smoked lasagna, but that's not the point of this thread.

This pan  does come in a 3" depth, but based on the 14x10, I would have to bend the end flanges on the 13" dimension. Could be done ...

Does anyone know of a pan 9x13x3 pan that fits in an MES-30?

A really quick Google search brought up LOTS of options. Here's one   Looks like it should last for a while

That looks like the same one I posted from Amazon. The 1/2 bezel around the pan means it will be just a little to long to fit in the MES-30 unless I do some metal work. I can, but want to buy the answer if I can, not make the answer.

However, I do see a nordic pan that might work.

So the winner was  I used your suggestion, found the pan on the net, and when I knew what I wanted found it on Amazon.

It will be here in time for the weekend smoke!

I don't know the dimensions of the MES 30 grates but if there is not 1-2" of clearance all around the pan, more the better, you will have a problem with uneven heat above the pan...JJ

I know this is an old post but did it fit? They still have them so I was considering getting one for my MES30

Like JJ said above, Be careful you have enough breathing space around anything you put on a shelf.

I had 2 pans (9 X 11) on the same shelf, and the heat in my MES 40 was all screwed up!!  Real hot below that shelf & a lot cooler above it, until I realized it & separated them.
