What would you guys recommend for a meat grinder around $350? I would like to start processing my own deer/elk.

How much will you be doing at one time?

    I don't think I'd do more than 10 lbs at a time

Check my sig. I have a LEM #8.  I've only done small runs (like half a pork butt), but it works great (if I only do a one pass grind otherwise it gets squishy).  Im pretty sure this baby will handle 10lbs at a time without an issue.

But I think if you are going to be processing larger quantities of meat, its probably best to get something more substantial.

  8. I too have the Kitchener #12. It works OK .......But....... I have to push/force every piece of meat through it to get it to grind.

My next one will be a LEM with a "Big Bite" auger. Just drop meat in and it grinds.

  12. have the Weston # 22 and my only complaint is I can not feed it fast enough to keep a steady grind. it churns thru every thing I throw at it, warm cold, half frozen, fat meat etc. it does not care. just my 2 cents,

Zero complaints so far with my LEM #8.

I think the #8 regular will do as good a job for 1/3 of the price, unless you're processing a whole deer at a time.  Then I would get something bigger or with that special auger.
