Hey Everyone

Just got myself a Maverick wireless 733 meat thermometer, my fist ever wireless meat thermometer.

Just wondering if anyone has any comments about using it in the winter elements such as rain or snow?

The guy who sold it to me mentioned something about putting it in a zip lock bag? I thought that was odd.

Anyway, any comments/thoughts/advice?
They would be appreciated.

If it matters, planning to use it mainly with my smoker so I don't even know where I'll have the unit sit.

Thx folks

If I know it is going to rain I place in a bag then push in the probe. Never wanted to chance it. Snow don't worry me as much but if was heavy I would

Ziplock plastic storage containers work too. Drill, or poke, a couple of holes for the probes to go through, seal with a bit of duct tape, and you're good.

I used a small Tupperware  container and drilled hole in it for the probe, then I put a gallon baggie over the whole thing. Seems like over kill but the maverick was dryer than me anyway.
