Just got the Maverick ET 732 for pappy's day. I was absolutely god-smacked that I didn't have to wade through 3 or 4 languages to find the right directions for a born and bred Americano. Kudos to the Maverick manufacturer for that.
Aside from that, I'm curious as to how these match up to the probes included with the MES? Has anyone noticed if they are close in accuracy? I don't know which one I should trust. Interested in hearing from anyone who's checked them .
Thanx,
Fred

You can verify the accuracy of the Mav with the boil and ice water test:  put the tip of the probe in boiling water and it should read at or near 212*; then put the probe tip in ice water and it should read at or near 32*.

Once you've checked the Maverick, put it in the MES and use it to see how close the stock probe is.

Do a test:

Put some ice water in a glass & check for 32* with your Mav. (Both Probes)

Then boil some water & check for 212*.

Careful not to touch the bottom of the pot.

Also keep water out of the joint between the cable and the probe.

If you're within a degree or two, you're good to go.

Now you can trust your Mav & only your maverick.

LOL---All kidding aside:

Probably 99% of Maverick ET 732s are accurate.

Also I doubt any two MES are the same, as with most other factory smoker therms..

with the ice water test.. it is recommended to use crushed ice instead of cubes... a full glass of crushed ice and then just enough water to where the ice starts to float...
