Hi guys! Setting here in Louisiana on a nice Sunday morning smoking a brisket with a little hickory/apple wood for a geathering of several females tonight here at the house the wife is having. Got a new Masterbilt trying brisket for the first time on it. Been an offset smoker all my life but the wife bought me this one so we will give it a try. Born and raised in Texas moved to Cajun land 30 years ago. I cook a wide range of stuff but like gumbo, beans, cornbread and BBQ cooking the best. Cook of large groups at work, 130ish, to small gatherings of friends here at the house. Love food, people and eating! So let's have fun and cook something! I cook in Camp Dutch Ovens as well. Love to camp and cook!

welcome to SMF!  Storming down here in B.R. so it looks like smothered sausage and taters on the menu today.

Hey Crusher welcome. One of my best old Texas pals is now a resident of Iota. He has recently been trying to survive the Marde Gras stuff in Lafayette. Sounds like yall have a lot of fun over there. Now I turn out a pretty mean gumbo myself..lol. Let us strive not to be no steeken strangers.

Wee wee. Knew I shoulda listened to the speel checker. That is the second pertinent factoid I have learned about that event just recently. Here all these years I was thinking the crowds of party goers throwed plastic beads to the girls who showed their breastes to the throng. My pal at Ioata recently revealed the naked ladies throw beads to them. Its going to take a while for that to sink in.
