Yes, I can get one online, but they cost twice as much. If anyone in VA or NC or the surrounding areas can pick up a Smithfield Ham for me, I will pay you via PayPal for the cost + the shipping cost for it BEFORE you even buy it. As long as the cost is lower than what I can get online, of course.

I am very serious about this. I love me some country ham and am very disappointed that I can't get them here.

I can't think of anything that is local to OK that you might want, so I'm offering you hard cash.

If you can get a Smithfield country ham to me for less than what I can get one online, then please PM me.

Thank you,
-Bret

I'll check and see what I can find. Is there anything particular you're looking for? I looked at Smithfield's website and they show quite a few options on country hams.

What's it take to ship one?

We might be able to work out a trade on Ralph's beef jerky and Head Country stuff.

Sounds good, guys, thank you!

I have no idea what it costs to ship one. The last one I got was 16#, and I brought it with me when I moved. I wouldn't need one that large this time, but any size is OK -- I'm pretty sure that I can find a butcher that will half one for me.

I've never heard of Ralph's beef jerky, but I'm sure that I could find it. And I know that I could load you up on some "Head Country" rub (that stuff is pretty awesome!). Like I said, though, I will pay you cash money via PayPal if you can find me something that is less expensive than ordering one online (with shipping).

Country hams are awesome, and I like to do one or two every year. I'm craving one right now, and I really want to try smoking one.

Yeah, I'm from GA originally...only lived in Guthrie a couple of years in high school and back now for only a couple of years.

I'll definitely check them out. Thanks!

I see that you're in NC now. I used to get my country hams and all other meats from the Farm Fresh grocery store in Elizabeth City, but it doesn't look like there is one close to you. http://locator.farmfreshsupermarkets...wStoresByState

All of their beef is Angus, and *none* of their meat has been injected with anything. I get all of my pork and beef from a local Angus+hog rancher now, but the country ham thing is regional. It cost me around $3/lb, but like I said, it's twice that if I buy one from an online store, so I'm hoping that someone here can hook me up.

Well, living here in the Commonwealth, we have Smithfield stuff all over the place..........Heck, I can probably pick one up at the 7-11 ( well, MAYBE ).
Anyway, I'll be heading out to pick-up some stuff for tommorow's smoke, and I'll see what I can find. You're looking for a country ham, right ?

If it's country ham you crave, might I suggest a Finchville Farms Country Ham. They are made right down the road from where I work. They are a blue ribbon ham. The best I've ever had. I'm not sure of the price, but if you are interested, I can check on it for you.

Try checking near Paula Deans face, somewhere around her there are Smithfield hams flying around

Wish I could help ya...miss me some country ham! I loved when I lived in NC and we'd go out for breakfast and get some country ham and grits with red eye gravy! THE best! Enjoy it when you get it...

Now here's a man that knows exactly what I'm talking about!

Also, I know that there are variations, but I'm holding out for a Smithfield. If no one here can deliver, then I'll get one online from the country ham store (well, they're out of stock on these right now) or elsewhere, but they really do charge twice as much (or more), and I'm not trying to pay $100 for something that I could get for $40-$50.

Anybody?

Like I said, I'll pay you via PayPal for the cost+shipping up front. Also, I can hook you up with some "Head Country" rub and sauce (which is awesome) if you want.

I really want to try smoking one of these.

Thank you,
-Bret

I looked yesterday in two different grocery stores Martins and Weis. They don't carry them. I did find a ham made by a nascar driver think it was Jimmy Johnson. His hams were also labled country ham in cloth bags near the meat section. ??? I will continue to keep my eyes open...

I only got a chance to look one place this weekend and found some Smithfield hams but not the country hams.

I'm in GA this week, did you used to get them in GA somewhere?

I've been keeping my eye open and still hadn't seen one.  I got a thing in the mail for a free trial membership at BJ's Wholesale and went to check it out today.  They had them.  Bad news is they only carry brisket flats and their rib prices aren't very good..

Thanks, Ryan!  I'm not 100% sure if that's what I want because it says "Mild Cure".  Also, after tax and shipping it would probably be pretty close to the $88 total that this one costs: http://www.smithfieldmarketplace.com/product/275/genuine-smithfield-hams

And I know for a fact that the latter is a "Genuine" Smithfield -- there are strict laws that regulate that.  So I'll most likely end up getting the one online.

I really do appreciate your help, though (all of you)!!
