I know there are a couple of things you cannot ask a fella:

1. Can I borrow your deer rifle?
2. Mind if I kiss your wife?
3. Can you tell me your rub recipe?

So I'm not asking for specific measurements, but how about some ingredient ideas?

Have you checked the rub forum here? I got some links to recipe sites i could post up again for ya, at work rite now,

Here's my favorite rub for PPB

The ratios are 2:1 so you can increase as much as you want:

2 TBSP Seasoned salt
2 TBSP Coarse Ground Black Pepper
1 TBSP Paprika
1 TBSP Crushed red pepper flakes
1 TBSP Oregano
1 CUP Dark brown sugar.

Last weekend I made a PPB and left out the sugar. I liked it better that way because it cut down on the bark thickness and slowed the formation of it. My preference, but you decide for yourself. I've used it with sugar for years.

Good luck and keep us posted!

This is a rub I found searching the internet
I've used it svereal times now on ribs and butts....It is pretty hard to beat.
I up the cayenne sometimes for a little more heat

· 1/2 cup brown sugar
· 1/4 cup paprika
· 1 tablespoon black pepper
· 1 tablespoon salt
· 1 tablespoon chili powder
· 1 tablespoon garlic powder
· 1 tablespoon onion powder
· 1 teaspoon cayenne

You know what Smoke? I went through this site from top to bottom, and figured I had done a great job of proper reseach before I made that post. I couldn't find anything on a rub recipe at all. I found lots of posts with the phrase "applied rub" and terms like that, but couldn't find a single recipe.

I read your post, went back to the start page of the forums, and there it was
