OK, this is just in the planning stages right now, but I want to build a large propane smoker out of a 275 gallon oil tank. The oblong shape should allow me to keep with the vertical concept as with my Brinkman, therefore the internal concept/design should be similar right? What I mean is: burner, wood pan, water pan then grates. Any thoughts or ideas are very welcome guys & please tell me if I'm way off here. Notes: I like the convenience of the propane models so I tend to shy away from wood only. I like the size of the oil tank, which should allow for more cooking space. So: can it be done?
