Deal from the wife is sell the 36 and I can get a new cooker, been looking at all sorts of pits again not just Lang but the price of a Lang is hard for me to beat. I'm interested in bumping up to a 48 deluxe or 60 not sure on original or deluxe on that yet, although I find myself leaning towards the 60. I want to order sliding upper and lower racks from Ben, the stupid standard upper rack really aggravates me. So what I am looking for is what is the door opening width on a 48 and 60. I know I would be losing cooking space on the bottom rack but I'm ok with it, I don't like having to try and not touch the damn upper rack when its in use.

Thanks Gents.

Morning Raymo

Sorry I can't help you with the dimensions of the door openings. Please keep us informed on what you decide.

Hopefully someone will chime in with the information you're looking for.

Remember, bigger IS better!

Good luck!

I have a 48 and I just measured it for you, the opening is 36 inches wide and 14 inches tall.

I knew someone would come through, thanks Gary!

WC yup, leaning toward the 60.

I just realized I had not followed up on this one. The 60 is 50" Wide and 14" High for the opening. Also the top rack is now a sliding rack not the table design it used to be.

Well I bought a motorcycle instead :) So I'm still working with my 36

just went last wed. to pick up my 60" deluxe and it came with a sliding upper rack. just 2 words,,,,,,incredibly awesome!! 1st lang i've owned and not the last!! i'll sell my motorcycle to buy a 48" patio!!!!!!

Go with the 60 cause if u get the 48 and it isn't big enough u are back to buying another smoker. That way u have plenty of room U can just as easy cook for two people or 50 and won't take no more wood. :yahoo:

Hey icyhot, quick question for you,do you have a 60 lang? And if so, do you smoke with your stack damper fully open or partially open? I smoked butts for the 1st time on mine with my stack damper fully open and didn't seem to get the smoke flavor of my smaller stick burner! Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

I couldent afford a 60 so I went with the 36 stretch. I get plenty of smoke flavor on mine but if your not u could cook at a lower temp and should pick up more smoke flavor.
