I had an 8 pound pork butt, I smoked for about 8 hours at 240 degrees.  It look good-internal temp was 165.  Should I put it back on or put it in the oven?  some folks have said they'g go to 200 degrees & 10 hours or so...

Are you looking to slice it like a roast or pull it?

Either way would work, but personally, I'd go back into the smoke for a while longer.

If you want to pull it you should keep going.  At this point it won't matter a lot whether it goes in the oven or back in the smoker, so what ever is easiest.  I go to 205* but anything north of 190* should pull.  If your not pulling it 165* is done, but I like mine closer to 185*.  Hope this helps.

thanks, I slipped it in the oven wrapped with foil. I'm going for 205!I also signed up for smoking course!
