Congradulation on getting yours. I'm a Newbie too.
Put mine together the other night, seasoned it this morning, and cranked it up this afternoon with two slabs of ribs. Used Jeff's aked Rub recipe.

so, how do you guys like this smoker? I have a brinkman 7 in one, propane piece of crap that burns way to hot, I have spent proably $100 on a new low volune burner, smaller orifice, new valve, etc. I am sick of fighting it, but I am afraid of just buying another problem with a new smoker. What do y'all think?

Gratz on the new smoker, use it well and may your smoke always be thin and blue.

No, I couldn't get the temps below 243-25. The outside tem was 101. Had the side vents closed as fas they would go, and the top vent open all the way. Took them off at 170 degrees.
