Hello,I just got married and had a catered BBQ. Wow was it good! I took a good look at the smoker used and came up with some of my own ideas.
I went home, after the honeymoon, and built my own smoker out of 2 old propane tanks. My new wife has named it "The Rocket" because she swore I was going to blow the whole thing up before I got it finished.
I completed it and gave it it's first run this weekend and had great success. I credit this site and all the info from all of you fine folks.

welcome matt. nothing like going from the honeymoon to a new smoker.......just wait a year before loading up the porch...unless she's really understanding. lol

Welcome to SMF!! Great site! Have you checked out Jeff's 5-day ecourse?

It looks like you are inside the "Blue Line". It's good to see more folks from this neck of the woods interested in low and slow!

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Regards,

Meowey

Welcome to the SMF. Sounds like you're an eager beaver and just dyin' to smoke. Go for it Rocket Man!

I smoked some pork loin and beef steaks today and decided to chop up some wild apples that fell nearby. I put them right into my fire as well as near the top of my firebox and it produced a nice sweet smoke. We just ate dinner and you can taste the apple. It was a really nice twist and the wife and kids loved it.
Try it sometime.

Welcome aboard, and congats on getten married and the new smoker, hope to see some pics that will expand after you post them.
