Just a Question for the Charcoal gang

Anyone familiar or have an opinion on the Meco Stainless water smokers.

i picked up a mc5030 at a d.a.v. store for 10 bucks i bougt it for the heating element. i did give it a good test run just to see how the temps run with water in pan run fairley well but the little slide door sux.

Those sliding doors would concern me too. After a while your going to get buildup inside your smoker. I would be leary of this inhibiting the doors after a while. Plus the fact that temps will make the the metal on the smoker and doors expand & contract so it may not slide easy after a while.

I can't claim I have ever seen one like that so I can't really say for sure. Just my thoughts
