My name is John Cash from Henderson NC and just love to cook, bbq, and anything

related to having good times with friends and family. I have several different cookers

but thinking of getting a WSM and it seems to be very versatile and popular by demand.

NOW WAIT JUST A DOGGONE MINUTE!  John Cash?  If you are gonna say your brother's name is Elvis we have a problem!  Just teasing.  My brother's name is actually Frankie Lane.  NOT as popular but he caught some grief over that.  Sorry, I am sure this isn't the first time you have heard this stuff.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folks here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  If I can be of any help please feel free to send me a PM.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...

I just purchased a WSM 18.5 and was wondering should I think about getting a fan controller and if so what

recommendations does anybody have for me. I have seen a lot of modifications to these smokers but didn't

know if they were necessary or if anybody could give me some recommendations.  Thanks and happy smoking.
