This smoker has a 30" vented firebox, a 64" horizontal cooking surface and a 40" verticle cooking surface. It is built out of heavy gauge steel which retains and radiates heat, unlike some of those store-bought models. The upright portion of the smoker has 5 removable and adjustable racks, as well as a water pan too keep those meats nice and moist. The racks can be removed to hang and smoke sausages.
A baffle has been installed that runs from the firebox all the way to the upright portion of the smoker to evenly distribute heat. This smoker is one serious piece of equipment, perfect for smoking large amounts of meat for fund raisers, or you can put the heat source directly in the bottom of the upright section to conserve fuel for smoking just a couple of briskets or turkeys. I have also installed 3 new themometers, one on each door of the unit, for maximum heat readings. A smoker similar to this one in design, but less than half the size and constructed of a much lighter grade steel sells for $1479.00 plus tax at Bass Pro. There has been over $3000.00 invested in this unit, not including labor. But I am asking only $2200.00, due to being laid off from work. Look around, and you will see that this is a STEAL at this price, as other smaller units with fewer options sell for much more, even on Craigslist.
