Hey all from just outside of Athens, GA. Although I'm from this area and tailgate most UGA home games when I'm around, I'm not a die hard fan. I graduated from Georgia Southern [Go Eagles], and still go down to the 'Boro for as many games as I can. Currently I'm cooking on my new Chargriller Akorn Kamado. If you haven't seen/heard of these, I highly recommend looking into them. Best bang for your buck in that price range!

I use a Maverick ET-732 for my temps. Relatively new to the BBQ world, but been grilling for years. So far I've done a few racks of baby backs and some spares, as seen in my avatar. No other low smokes on a butt or brisket....yet. I love trying new things and experimenting with flavors, specially spicy stuff. My next challenge will be a traditional boston butt, but I plan to play around with either some asian style ribs or maybe a carribean jerk style.

I also do homebrewing and make beer, wine/mead, and some really strong "corn" yeah we'll call it that. I do photography on the side, and enjoy pretty much all college sports. Not a big fan of NBA, but love the Falcons and the Braves. Spend alot of time outdoors and love camping/hiking/or just laying in my hammock. Also I ride motorcycles and currently have a yamaha fz6.

Looking forward to getting ideas and learning new stuff from this site! You can also find me on KamadoGuru under the same name.

[IMG]to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! I would love to have an EASY Mead recipe!  have a loan of fresh local honey!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

I'll attempt to upload some pics...

I'm kinda shocked there's no group for us Georgia folks? It'd be cool to have a place to keep up with local members and events.

The way I got started into mead was through this site. I actually made milk jug mead at first and it turned out. Now I use glass carboys and all kinds of fancy brew supplies, but IMO, this is the best and easiest way to get started to get a feel for mead...

    Check it out!
