Hi All.

Glad to have found this forum.

I have always loved to grill, and after my last grill rusted through the bottom was ectatic to purchase my first offset smoker about 4weeks ago. bought a 'Char-Broil' off set smoker to start with.

in the 4weeks i've smoked some baby back ribs which came out fabulous.

I just smoked my first pork shoulder this weekend. it was very good, but will be better with more trials.

I LOVE IT. there are several areas i know i need to work on, and look forward to the learning experience. As well i want to start messing around with making my own sauces and rubs as i figure that is really where the difference will be.

i look forward to chatting with every body and sharing some bbq experiences.

Welcome aboard, It's good to see another Hoosier on-board.  Not a day goes by that I dont stop and read a post and learn something new.  My advice is just to read as much as you can and spend some time on the "fatties" page.  Enjoy!

A new member with a new smoker, that's one way to knock on the door of the SMF. Welcome to a great and fun forum site. It's all good my friend.

Thanks everybody. i've only had the smoker a few weeks but i already know i'm addicted for life. LOL.

thanks for the link. i will definitely check that out.

i already know i need to change out the thermometer on the smoker for one that lists the degrees. mine only reads as warm ideal and hot. and ideal ranges anywhere from 200 to 300+
