I got one of the large smokers from Sam's Club for my birthday.  I've found butts on sale recently and have collected 8 in the freezer.  The smoker will hold them all.  Should I christen the new smoker and do all 8 at once?  I do love to freeze it and reheat later for dinners.

A full smoker is a happy smoker! That said, I would try something easy first to season it and get the hang of running it at the right temperature and such. What is the brand name on that smoker?

Yup..

I don't know, I'd have to made some sausage, andouille and boudin too.

I have 4 reefers and 3 large freezers and they are all full. Butcher just let me know I could get butts at .99/lb and I am wondering where I could put 'em. You think 4 freezers would just be gaudy?

Smoke Holler Pro.  I'm moving up in size from one of the smaller circular ones.  I might just do some ribs to season it and then go big from there.  Would 8 butts change the time at all for smoking?

Foamheart, I should be so lucky to have your problem!!!

Geez I am still trying to figure out where to fit 1 freezer. With that being said, if I had surplus room I would probably have 4 of them.

Just like cooking one as long as they are close to the same size. Smoke by temp. not time.

If you have enough room between each one to get proper air flow than it shouldn't change the time. I would use an air thermo to check for hot and cold spots till you get the new smoker figured out.
