I had a couple hrs today to cook some drumsticks while I was painting the pool. I decided to experiment with temps a bit while I did it.

Oh yeah, thats a nice temp, and the digital wasn't too far behind!

here they are at about 165-170 internal on a few of them. I took them off at 180-185 and they were awesome, nice and crisp skin too. Gotta love that. red oak and cherry did the trick!

Great looking GAMS there Capt Dan!!
Well done!

Lookin great Dan! Hey, want ya to know I got my crosshairs on a lang 84. Might be humpin yer leg to learn how to use it as early as this weekend...

OH boy, one guy wants to hump my leg, and the other is tellin me how nice they are. I feel so cheap!

I sometimes wish I had an 84, I really like the dual side doors and slide out shelves. But I can feed 100 on my 60 if I work it right, and it will hafta do for awhile anyways. The meadow creeks are nice too.

Thanks for all the comments on my legs!

Got them at Lowes. They are 5-6 bucks each. I have 3 of them, and they work great. The legs come off and they fold up nicely!

They look like smoked Rockettes!

Looks awesome I like those higher temps and crispy skin!!!

Remember Rich, it's the cook not the smoker :)

Nice job Dan!

Sometimes it's good to be cheap...

Saw them for 3-4 bucks on sale recently at a Lowe's or Home Depot. These places are already starting to dump their smoke/grill stuff. (we just go rolling here in Meeechigan)

PS -- I like your legs too, Capt.

Going to give them a shot this weekend too> Just got a Lang 60 this past year and love it! Any tips on keeping those extruded grates clean? Tried steam cleaning as Lang recommends, but it just doesn't do it> Have you tried injecting or marinading the drums, then smoking at 350-375? Thanks for any help you can give me!
