So last year I grew some ghost peppers and dried and mixed them with various other peppers to make a nice hot powder. I gave this to the guys I work with for Christmas and it was a BIG hit.

So this year just for fun I have stepped it up a notch. This is currently my mix. Grinding this into a powder had to be done outside as when I tried inside I found it hard to breath.

Carolina Reaper – 11 (1,569,300 on the Scoville scale)

Trinidad Scorpion – 7 (1,463,700 Scoville heat units)

Ghost – 6 (1,000,000 Scoville heat units)

Habanero – 24 (100,000–350,000)

Cayenne – 12 (30,000-50,000)

Lemon Drop Peppers - 10 (15,000-30,000)

Hot Banana – 7 (500 Scoville)

Hot Thai Chili – 36 (50,000 - 100,000)

Jalapeno – 42 (2,500 - 10,000)

I think they will like this.

That is a long list! I smoked and dried a bunch of peppers this weekend I just haven't decided how I want to use them (crushed, ground, chipotles in adobo, etc). I have 3 carolina reapers from my FIL that will get mixed in somewhere for an added surprise.

So I used the Carolina reapers, some habaneros, and some jalapenos last night for "crushed" pepper. The smell is very potent and now I am a little afraid to try it. I am going to let my FIL try it first since he grew the reapers. Let me know how yours tastes.
