A novel idea to power your old grinder:

For those who can remember, old tractors with hand clutches had a revolving clutch drum that you could hook a big wide belt to. We had one that ran to a feed grinder. This one isn't as big, but it was hooked to some kinda belt driven motor. And has a neat gear reduction system. That's a big #32. It might suck in a whole side at once!

Wanna stand over that and stuff meat?

Ever wonder why there used to be so many 9 fingered or 1 armed farmers? That thing makes me shiver just looking at it. Neighbor used to have about a 3ft diameter saw blade hooked to his old JD B model with a belt like that. He would cut to length and then cut points on cedar fence posts with it. It looked like it came out of a horror movie!

Yea we use the same Deere tractors at the annual Antique Threshing Bee every August in McLouth, KS. They can be dangerous, but like any machine, a man has to know the machine and the limitations.

If you buy that meat grinder, I'll drive over to watch you use it! You would have the most unique tool at the show! (I recommend you stand off to one side and toss the meat at it).

BTW, from the looks of that, it's a special built #32. Appears to be a different base. Cleaned up, it would make a real collector's item.
