Hi! My name is Sean and I'm addicted to bacon!
Been hanging around for a little bit and figured I'd introduce myself. Don't have much in terms of equipment at the moment. Might build a plywood smoker or some other cheap cold-smoking apparatus since the finances are tight right now.
I hate making introductory posts, so I'm going to shut up now before I start rambling.

Welcome Sierra

Smoking bacon is very easy and you can do it with as little equipment as a cardboard box, a soldering iron and some wood dust.  Welcome to the forum, why not make a post on how to smoke bacon the cheap way and see what comments you get!

Lol, you actually read my mind. I even bought a Harbor Freight soldering iron for this purpose over the weekend. Now if it was easier to get my hands on some pork belly...

Welcome to SMF glad you joined us. I have found some meat markets will order bellies maybe check with a few.

Welcome aboard, Sean.  If you are budget minded like me, just stick Buckboard Bacon into the search box.

We make it a lot, and we love it at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of belly bacon.

Good luck and good smoking.

Fill in your location info and what equipment you have will make it easier for us.

Check some of the oriental markets, the Cuban or Hispanic stores.  They all have smaller pieces of belly,  Belly is a common ingredient in those cuisines.  Start small, maybe with a premade mix and find out how it goes.  I'd wait until you get the proper equipment to start trying to smoke 30 lbs at a time!

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks, great recipes and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.

Lots of us make bacon around here, be sure to follow the mfg's instructions when using cure and never use more.

Welcome Chris ---- I am up the road from you here in NH. You will find a lot of great information here.
