Hello, My Name is Sal and Im from Staten Island NY. Nice to meet you all.
I have been dabling with barbeque on and off for about 5 or so years. Not consistantly though because untill last week I didnt own a smoker, but my brother in law had a GOSM that he bought at Costco. I loved going to his house in NJ and together we had some real nice results with Baby Backs & scallops wrapped with bacon ). Since then Ive been trying to duplicate those on my Ducane Grill with no real luck. So I broke down and ordered a GOSM for myself. Last weekend I Teed off my natural gas line and converted it To natural gas (as is my Dukane is also natural gas). I fired it up cheched for leeks and every thing seems fine. Sunday I took it for a test run with some spare ribs that I cut the tip off, I dont like that part but i smoked the tips and gave them to my neighbor and thet didnt complain ). Wasnt a bad first run i guess, my 16 year old son was eating the ribs for breakfast. lol. I already made my first mod and bought a 10" round cast iron fry pan and cutthe handle off to replace the original tiny chip box. Well Im getting to long winded here and i do have a few questions that ill post on the reg. forum. Again nice to meet you all
