Long time lurker, so I thought I best finally sign sign up!

Planning a UDS build, I'm in the UK so some of the parts are harder to source, CyberQ etc but I'm planning it all out!

I've done some smoking on a cheap ProQ bullet and while some of it has been ok (great according to those who tried it) I feel I can do better and I need a project...

You've done well so far and you want to learn more. Green semaphores.

One thing, if you post to the UK group the whole board can read it but only members of that UK group can reply to you.

    Glad to have you aboard!

  7. Hi Dave, welcome to the forum, these guys are really helpful.

If you are planning on using a controlled fan assisted air input, just stick one hole in your drum for the fitting. I started with the manual valve method and had three holes in it. I have now fitted a controlled fan and the other holes are redundant.

I used a Weber 57cm cooking grate held up by three 8mm stainless bolts. I got a fair few bits from Screwfix, which is just down the road for me. They are a brilliant addition to the outdoor kitchen. I have done the last three Xmas dinners in mine, I had to lag it though, it lost too much heat.
I would have stuck some pictures up, but like a numpty I didn't back up my old lappy and when the hard drive crashed, I lost all my photos.

That's the rub, I think the pit controller will follow in a few months. so I think I will go with 3 intakes. 2 with copper pipes running to the lid height, and one capped on the bottom as a back up. Might skip the bottom one though.

I'm thinking 22mm since that's about 3/4" and will factor in my later purchase!

Elbow into the barrell, copper pipe to the ball valve. Might need to add a bracket to the barrel at that height too.
