This will be the biggest smoke I've tried. With a little help from SMF member Fired Up the plan is to do the following:

5 - 5lbs Boston Butts
Homemade BBQ sauce (variation on Jeff's sauce)
Homemade Carolina sauce (variation on SoFlaquers)
SoFlaquers finishing sauce
30 ABTs (for the cooks!)
Maybe a fatty

Along with that my wife will be doing mac and cheese, homemade Rice Crispie treats, cookies and some homemade breadspread with some french bread

We're expecting about 30-40 people tomorrow, but the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate.

The Qview will start soon...the butts are goin' in tonight around 7PM (per Fired Ups suggestion). That will give us ~20 - 22 hours.

I'm really excited. This will be my first true all-nighter and since Brad can't make it tonight, my boy is going to step in and stay up with me during the night (looking forward to shooting hoops at 3AM!) and we'll pick Brad up in the morning and have some fun!

That's awesome Indy. You're creating memories for you and your boy that will last forever. Good luck and hope the weather cooperates. I'm just south of you in KY and we are hoping the rain stays away also. I'm doing a 10# picnic today and 5 slabs of spares tomorrow.

Sounds like a great smoke Indy and a lot of good food to share. Hope the weather holds for you. Look'n forward to the Q-View

Here we go with the Qview!

Here they are in the smoker. 2 on the bottom shelf, 1 on the 2nd from bottom and 2 above that...one shelf left for the ABTs and the fatties!

Had a little issue with the ketchup based sauce...burnt the heck out of it...I'll try another batch in the morning. On top of that my thermometers freaked out on me so I had to buy a couple of new ones. So the Ikea ones I mentioned before...may not be the best idea. I personally think I screwed them up by switching the probes around though...oh well. Lesson learned.

Off to get a quick shower and a cold drink and get ready to get comfortable in the garage.

You're definety in for a treat you and the boy your first all nighter loads of meat alittle together time. It don't get better than that. Good luck and happy smokin. PSSST. let him win a few in the beginning.

Well the boy had a bit of a meltdown...he got up too early today in anticipation of buying illegal fireworks. Sadly he won't be joining me for the all-nighter, but I'll get him up at the crack of dawn again so he can help.

How is it that all of the carriage lights on a garage can go out at the same time? Now it's off to the store to buy some more since we're out of bulbs here.

Good luck with your all nighter. Personally, I used to laugh at the thought of sitting up all night to cook meat. I haven't done it yet, but I have this odd feeling one of those nights isn't too far off, ya know?

For me it reminds me of staying up late camping when I was in Scouts...just wish I had someone besides me and the dogs out here tonight, but it's still a good time!

With all that meat around I'm surprised the last two helpers went to bed.

That is a really nice looking smoker you have there and great qview of it all loaded up.

On a fishing trip to Washington state when my kids were in their teens, they bought a ton of fireworks and hid them in their sleeping bags. Luckily I found them before we crossed back into Canada where they are a huge no-no! Good thing I found them or I might still be in a Washington jail cell.

Was I ever the bad guy on that trip home. LOL

Hang in there, these are the things we laugh about around the campfires 20 years down the road.

PS. 5 years ago my grandson tried the same darned thing much to his Dad's embarassment. I got to tell the story one more time. Life is good.

Ok Mike, I have been home long enough to unwind and start thinking about sleeping. Looks like you have it all under control. I will see you in the morning.

As you wish!
6:14AM - This is why I started last night - And I can't believe that we're at the exact same temp on 2 butts

On my way to pick up Fired Up here in about an hour...then time for the ABTs and maybe a fatty or 2...hoping the weather holds out!

So Brad (Fired Up) came over and I can't say thanks enough! He even helped with finishing up the cornhole boards! Too bad it's raining so much we can't get outside, but we still are having a good turn out!

Here's the final Qview:
