This may not be the best place for this, but right now I'm desperate and hope that maybe someone has come across this before and can help.

I went and got some chinese take-out for lunch. When I got back to the office I took one bite and it tasted super salty. Like they'd dumped a whole 5 pound bag of salt in. Maybe they confused salt and sugar, I dunno, whatever the case it wasn't good at all. I took one more bite to make sure it just wasn't that piece and then had to throw the whole thing away. Totally nasty.

Now it's almost an hour later and I still can't get that salty taste outta my mouth. It's so bad it's making my stomach hurt, I feel like throwing up. I've tried everything, sugar, water, soda, coffee... to get that taste outta my mouth but it comes back. I wish I had some japs to chew on or something!

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get rid of this taste?

Try eating starchy things, rice, baked potato plaiin, banana.

IT it still persist, maybe you got a big globber of msg, or you are alergic to something in the chow.

call the doctor if has been more than 4 hours.
better safe than sorry,

did you call the place to complain?

Take it back and throw up at the counter, that should make you feel better. Try lots of beer too.

Thanks everyone! The taste did eventually go away, though even the next day I could still "taste" it. It wasn't really the taste, but the memory of what it tasted like that got me. It would be like taking a handful of salt and sucking on it. Don't get me wrong, I like salty things, but this was just so over the top that it made me want to vomit. I really should have tried the tequila and lime though!
