I currently have a MES that does a decent job with smoking. It's the first real smoker we've had, so I've learned a good bit by using it and from this forum.
I want to get something bigger and better now without breaking the bank.

I have a friend who has one that he made and put on a trailer. I haven't looked that close, but he was telling me that the fire burned by using wood and the wood is somehow started using a propane tank. That may not be exactly right, but I think it's close. He gets the wood going in the firebox and he doesn't worry about his fire or heat after that. He also added rotating racks so the meat will cook evenly. It's a smaller unit, but he can cook enough to feed about 50 people with chicken and ribs.

Any suggestions as to where I can find something like this? I don't want a big commercial smoker or an extremely expensive one although I imagine none are dirt cheap. Any suggestions on how or where to find something like this is greatly appreciated. I'd like to advance from the MES!

Only places I can think of - Ebay or craigs list. Good luck on your seach!
