Milton Keynes, England.
Hi All,

Just want to say "Hi!"

I'm Marcus, from Milton Keynes here in sunny England and I have been cooking outside for as long as I can remember, with a real passion for it over the last ten years or so.

Currently, I have a Brinkmann charcoal grill and a Pro Q Excel 20 bullet smoker, but we now have a Yoder distributor in Europe and I am hoping that the UK will get a dealer or two in the forthcoming months.

Probably my most favourite things to make are bacon and hams, dry cured and cold smoked. Along with some of the usual suspects, pork shoulder, ribs etc. but I'm in no way a BBQ snob and am more than happy chucking some shop bought snags on the grill or whatever! :)

Anyway, looks like a cook kinda place to hopefully be able to contribute to and learn from.

Cheers,

Marcus.

Hi Marcus and welcome to the forum. There are quite a few of us who chat on here from the UK and we have already had two annual meetings so far - which take place in July. We are currently organising the 2016 meeting at the moment.

It sounds as if you already like doing a wide range of hot and cold smoking and so SMF is a good place for you to share your experiences and to get some new ideas.

BBQ snobbery around here is a capital offence and you will find that there are almost as many variations on how to smoke a specific piece of meat, fish or cheese as there are members. There is no single  "right" way to do it - but there are "wrong" ways. Even in the USA there are marked regional differences.

Looking forward to reading your posts and also seeing your photos. We like photos on here

Hi Marcus,

Welcome on board

Yeah I have communicated directly to the Yoder dealer in EU and in the US (no plans for a UK dealer) but either way its the thick end of £2700 to get a Loaded Wichita to your front door. They are £1000 ($1500) if you lived in the US!

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a pretty nice day in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
