Southern Maryland
My name is Joe and I'm from the Southern Maryland area, right across the Virginia border.  I purchased my first smoker, a WSM, about 7 months ago and I've been enjoying using it every since.  I've been regularly smoking chickens and have done a couple of briskets and a Boston butt.  I'm constantly trying to tweak my techniques and improve each time.  I know that there's a lot of knowledge here and look forward to learning from everyone.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hello Joe, good morning and welcome from East Texas. You are doing the right thing, trying different flavors and techniques till you find what you and your family like best. I have been doing this for 40 years, have my stand-by go-to recipes, but also like to try different things .

Glad you joined up.

Hi and welcome to the group from Northern Illinois. Glad you joined. I've been smoking meat for @ 20 years, always did things somewhat the same til I started look online and here for ideas. What I did before was good and everyone liked it, but now I made my own rub and change things for great flavored smokes. good luck and keep smoking.
