Hello all. My name is Jason and I'm new to smoking, but not cooking in general. I'm hoping to have my smoker by the end of this week, a Masterbuilt 30" electric. I have had a heck of a time getting one to my house undamaged though, hopefully this will be the last rodeo and I can start smoking this weekend. Look forward to all the tips, recipes, and everything else I can learn from this forum!

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.

Hello, good morning and welcome to the forum, from a beautiful and hot (again) East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just

  about  everything

Thanks all for the welcome! Pictures will be no problem, as I am actually a photographer! I have a ton of meat ready to go, just waiting on the smoker! I've been trying for about a month to get one, but seems like no matter where I try, they keep coming damaged. Mostly looking forward to starting with some venison and duck, and really looking forward to trying jerky (both venison and beef) ASAP.

Well it got here all intact for a change! Doing the initial seasoning now, will actually be putting meat into it this weekend.
